| Li-Chu is a Taiwanese Jewellery designer maker who based in Birmingham, UK. Her work is all about pape and layers; using multiple layers to create subtle movement and tactile qualities. Applying a mix of metalsmithing techniques and new technologies, her designs consist of a series of paper silver, one-off, wearable pieces and body adornments. Her work not only shows the values of material itself but also recreates the link between the material and its original source in the nature environment. Paper is layered in a way that expands an inner space in a concentric formal and spreads and grows up from the centre. With the material and colour that she chooses it gives her work a rich tactile quality and interactive function. She explores the material with the relationship between nature, time and herself, creating intricate, elaborate and unique works at art. Her work is now exhibited worldwide in United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Belgium and Taiwan. |
